Monday - 16km easy

Public holiday, so no alarm. Woke up just before half past seven, put the shoes on, and ran. Headed to Queenscliff, turned around, ran straight to North Head (options are limited post storm damage), ran seven laps (that's right, seven) of the Fairfax Loop, before making my way back home. The first few kilometers felt like absolute rubbish, it's amazing how much more impact is imparted on your body as a runner compared with all other sports. Took me until about the 8km mark before I started to feel good again. From here on, each kilometer felt better and better. All up, a solid 16km holding 4:27's, 127 beats per minute. The Achilles felt better as the run progressed, so super encouraging. Most likely just going to run easy miles this week, as the body isn't ready for speed work just yet.
