Tuesday - 2 x 3km (13 minute cycle) (am) + 40 minute spin on the stationary cycle (pm)

Bloody tough out there this morning! Dark, freezing, and very windy. Was solo again this morning, failing to convince anyone yesterday to join me. Warmed up down to Queenscliff, back to halfway along the Shelly Beach path, back to North Steyne, then to Manly LSC. Did the reps in the bike lane, which out and back equals 3.2km. Tried to keep the efforts controlled, not looking at the watch except for the kilometer splits every 1000m. In fact, the first effort was all over the shop with the GPS, reading 3:02 for the first kilometer, then over 3:30's for the remaining two (I would say the first was nowhere near that, however the latter two were faster than that). Nevertheless, I finished at the three kilometer mark in 10:04 (3:21's). I felt pretty spent for the second effort, but was only fractionally slower in 10:09 (3:23's). All in all, not bad. As always, I would have liked to have been faster - but at this point in time it's simply all about getting through the sessions painfree - which I achieved this morning. Finished off with a 5km cooldown, so just over 16km all up. Will likely sit on the bike and lift some weights before a late lunch today if all goes to plan.

An easy spin in the bike at Fitness First at Randwick followed by a quick couple of sets of weights. 19.3km.
