Sunday - 90 minutes

Another Garmin fail yet again. After a great curry night with the Manly crew last night, I knew it was going to be tough recruiting anyone along for this morning's long(ish) run. Scott was the only taker, and we took advantage of the reduced length by starting at 6:45am (instead of 6:15am). Felt surprisingly okay following yesterday's race, but really didn't want to push it at all - as sometimes these feelings are a result of endorphins, so can easily lull you towards a false sense of recovery. We held a nice steady pace most of the way. However, despite running next to each other, we were recording different distances - with the one kilometer 'beebs' becoming further and further apart as the run progressed. Scotty had us down for 20.8km at 4:21's, while mine got 19.65km at 4:35's. Definitely felt that the former was true. Again, looking at the map, it looks like I got to Brookvale and ran dead straight back and forth for the second half of the run, finishing nowhere near Queenscliff. Seriously unimpressed with both the shop I purchased the Garmin, and Garmin themselves. I have tried to contact their local rep multiple times, and have only heard back from them once. Perhaps time to take it further. Anyway, first world problem! Another easy week ahead in the lead up to next Sunday's SMH Half Marathon. Am looking forward to this now, especially as I feel like the pressure has been lifted after yesterday's result.
