Tuesday - 6 x 800m (4:00 cycle)
Arguably too soon to return to a speed session. At least it was culled by about 75% in terms of volume that would be there in a normal training week. Not a bad turn out this morning - Quentin, Tom, Dr. Skins and Darren - the latter the only other who raced on Saturday. Both of us felt as if we were stuck in third gear. Wasn't terrible, just lacked that extra spark. Like always, purely ran the session on feel - and similarly, was remarkably consistent. The distances might have been slightly off as I didn't trust my GPS, but know that between North Steyne SLSC and Ben & Jerry's is 800m. Times were 2:26, 2:29, 2:27, 2:29, 2:29 and 2:31. Led for all of them bar the last 100m of the eighth when a fast finishing Tom ran a 2:30. He hasn't lost much at all! A nice cooldown with Quentin and Tom to Shelly, Queenscliff and North Steyne. About 15km all up. No double today.
