15km easy + 5 x 100m strides

Finally sucked up the courage to actually run easier than normal. Set out with the heart rate monitor to ensure that I stayed within the 'easy' zone, in other words not exceeding 133 bpm. Averaged 4:21 min/km, which is substantially slower than a typical Monday morning for me. Kept the heart rate nice and low, averaging 128 bpm. Nice and controlled, easy and relaxed. Just what I needed following a solid weekend of running. Finished off with 5 repetitions of 100m strides on the grassy area adjacent to the beach. Was going to go barefoot but the ground was slightly soggy after the random downpour of rain late last night.
